The U.S. Conference of Mayors have ha put out a resolution calling for Congress to legalize marijuana for adults, both recreational and medical.
The resolution stated that “the conflict between state law and the illegality of cannabis under federal law creates significant challenges and barriers for legally-owned and operated recreational and medical cannabis dispensaries and cannabis-related companies.”
The group also pushed Congress to approve the SAFE Banking Act of 202, which among other things would pave the way for dispensaries around the country to accept credit cards and debit cards. Presently, dispensaries must do business in cash only, which presents all kinds of security problems.
When is this outdated prohibition going to stop? Come Congress, the overwhelming majority wants marijuana to be legal. Even 51% of Texas Republicans call for legalization!
