Whether a person is vaping high-potency THC concentrates or using THC extract edibles, this Is NOT the same as smoking cannabis. Some of these concentrates have THC levels as high as 95%. That’s enough to make a normal person flat out passed out on the floor. Not good!
Normal cannabis use for most people is similar to having a glass or two of wine…or a drink…only when pot is used in this manner it is probably a whole lot healthier. For one thing, whether vaping dry-herb marijuana or smoking a joint, the user gets all of the elements of the cannabis plant and whatever health or fitness benefits may be accrued. This would yield the so-called ‘entourage effect’ of the cannabis plant. However, when using a concentrated THC extract, the user gets none of that. No CBD, no CBG, no terpenes, none the the many potentially beneficial components of the cannabis flower.
The vaping of liquid concentrates seems like a bad idea. There is no entourage effect and its’ effects are way too strong for most people. Presumably vaping came into vogue partly as nicotine users wished to avoid the obvious detrimental effects of cigarette smoking. But there is evidence that smoking cannabis is nowhere near as harmful as cigarette smoking. NORML just cited a study supporting this idea.
Maybe the fear over taking an occasional drag or two off a marijuana joint should go the way as the fear of the sun due to concerns about skin cancer, the fear of eggs and saturated fats over the fear of heart disease and so on. The fear of the sun takes the cake. The sun provides substantial critical nutrients such as vitamin D, intracellular melatonin and so much more. But many people are freaked out about being in the sun these days.
Even the idea of CBD edibles seems like a bad idea versus using CBD oil or CBD supplements. Most CBD edibles are loaded with sugar, That can’t possibly be healthy.
We’re probably in the minority opinion on this, but edibles and vaping liquid concentrates seems like a bad idea. Vaping full-flower dry-herb seems the much better way to go…
